Heather Sherry

Hello! My name is Heather and I have had a lifelong interest in health and wellness. In 2022, I had to look deeper into my own habits surrounding food. I was unable to exercise due to a knee injury and abdominal fat was accumulating in a way that limited me to one pair of pants from my wardrobe. It was a year of change, small changes that added up to 4 inches lost from my waistline and 12 pounds lost.

In the end I developed healthier habits surrounding food and exercise that are more sustainable and made me feel significantly better. I became more mindful about how various foods and drinks make me feel and why I was eating. I also learned the science behind weight loss and weight gain.

Change takes time. Give yourself a year to see results, not a day. After 7 months I was back into half my pants and at 9 months all of them fit again, but it took time. Our body isn’t designed to dramatically lose weight. It wants us to survive famine and long winters. We would be very poorly designed for survival if we were able to drop 20 pounds in a month! Give yourself time and focus on your habits not the scale. One will follow the other.
